and welcome to our website! It's here
to offer you information about what Labour has been doing in Mitcham,
Morden and Colliers Wood, and what we hope to do in the future.
We're making our manifesto and our pledges to you available through the Internet,
spreading our message to as many people as possible. There's information
about our 27 councillors, elected on May 2
2002. There's an interactive map to show you the 3
Labour councillors where you live. We hope you will email us with your views, questions
or suggestions.
As local residents, we know that you and your family want Merton to be a
cleaner, safer borough. We know you care about your area – how it's
kept and how it looks. Labour in Merton has been working hard to tackle
antisocial behaviour and environmental crime; leading the fight against
graffiti and vandalism; putting a stop to the irresponsible flytipping of rubbish in public places, and dealing
with abandoned cars. But we know there's much more to do. We want to see
Merton's street-cleaning services improved, and its recycling efforts
increased. We want better public transport, and will work hard to ensure
that standards in local schools continue to improve.
We know that you want action for a cleaner, safer Merton. We are working
to deliver it.
