Danny Connellan
|
|
No stranger to hard work, Danny started out in life as a sheet metal worker.
Now retired from a career in engineering, he keeps his four grandchildren
busy, as well as devoting his energies to people in the Figges Marsh area as
an experienced Labour councillor. An enthusiastic football fan, Danny was a
leading light in the campaign to save Tooting and Mitcham Football Club from
going under, and he is proud to see the club's new facilities in the
borough. Danny is just as proud of Merton's progress in raising education
standards under Labour, and wants to work hard to raise them further.

| | Andrew Judge
|
 |
|
Like Danny, Andrew is a keen football fan, having pushed to find a home for
Wimbledon FC in the borough. He has lived in Merton for 8 years, serving
Figges Marsh as a Labour councillor for 6 of those years. A barrister by
trade, Andrew was a founder member of the Bar Council. He is also a former
Secretary of the Society of Labour Lawyers. Andrew has been a keen advocate
for local people as Leader of Merton Council since April 2001, before which
he was Merton's Cabinet member with responsibility for the environment. He
remains passionate about the need to create a cleaner, safer borough.

Geraldine Stanford
|
|
A Mitcham resident for 32 years, Geraldine has been a primary school teacher
for the past 20 of those years, and is proud of Labour's education record in
Merton. She is proud to have served Figges Marsh as a Labour councillor
since 1990, in which time she has sat on all the Council committees. As well
as being a committee member of several local voluntary organizations,
Geraldine is a founder member of the North Mitcham Action Group, which laid
the ground for North East Mitcham Community Centre. Like Danny and Andrew,
Geraldine is committed to working for much-needed improvements in Mitcham
town centre.
