Mark Allison
|
|
Mark was born in St Helier Hospital and has lived locally all his life. He
currently works in the communications department of Abbey National plc, and
was previously research assistant to Lorna Fitzsimons, Labour MP for
Rochdale. In the June 2001 general election Mark stood as Labour candidate
in neighbouring Sutton and Cheam. His hobbies include playing and watching
football – he is a season ticket holder at QPR.

A lifelong Mitcham resident, Mary has lived in Lavender Avenue for 47 years,
and is treasurer of Lavender Resident and Tenants Association. As Mary
Driscoll she attended Bond and Western (now Liberty) Schools in the area.
Her working life has been spent in clerical posts, apart from 3 years spent
as a petrol pump attendant! Married to Brian, Mary has been active in Labour
Party for many years, though this is her first election as a candidate.

Edith Macauley

Edith has served Lavender Fields as a Labour councillor since 1998, and for
the last two years she has been Merton's Cabinet member with responsibility
for housing. For the past 30 years Edith has been a legal administrator for
the Communication Workers Union, which is based locally. In her spare time
she is proud to serve the local community as a school governor (her
daughters have been educated at local schools) and as a magistrate. Edith
also does voluntary work with her local church.
