Siobhain holds parliamentary debate on brain tumours
Mitcham & Morden
In May, Siobhain McDonagh, MP for Mitcham and Morden, held a debate in Parliament on brain tumours. This debate was the result of an application put in by Siobhain and Charlie Maynard MP which received cross-party support.
The debate, focusing on the research and treatment of brain tumours, was attended by MPs from across the House, sharing stories of constituents, friends, and family members who have been diagnosed with brain tumours. MPs were joined by Health Minister Ashley Dalton. Siobhain’s campaign to find a cure for glioblastoma brain tumours started when her sister Margaret was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2021. Now, almost two years since Margaret passed away, Siobhain continues her fight to improve awareness, treatment options, and increase clinical research into Glioblastoma brain tumours – the deadliest form of brain cancer.
