Councillors commemorate VE Day 2025

On the 8th of May, Mitcham Town Centre proudly hosted a well-attended VE-Day celebration, bringing together local residents in a heartfelt commemoration of Victory in Europe Day. The event was graced by the presence of Siobhain McDonagh, MP for Mitcham and Morden, and the Leader of Merton Council, Ross Garrod. Organised in collaboration with the Royal British Legion, the celebration honoured the sacrifices made during the Second World War and celebrated peace and community spirit. It was a meaningful day that highlighted local unity and respect for our shared history.
