Siobhain meets with LINK to make the case for a banking hub in Mitcham

Mitcham

This morning, Siobhain took the 270 bus to Tooting with LINK’s Chief Executive, John Howells, to show him exactly what residents have been saying for weeks: the journey to our nearest bank is simply too long.

With every bank in Mitcham now either gone or due to close, this journey is not realistic for anyone, especially those who are elderly, vulnerable or disabled. What is clear is that banking services are absolutely needed in Mitcham.

Siobhain, along with your local Labour Action Teams, will continue to fight for a banking hub in Mitcham and today’s visit from LINK was one step towards hopefully achieving that.

Thank you to all those who came along to the meeting, as well as all of those who have shared their experiences and journey times to Tooting. Local voices have driven this campaign from the very start, and with your help we hope that your support will help deliver the outcome Mitcham so very desperately needs.
