Update on the banking hub in Mitcham town centre

Mitcham

We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Mitcham will be getting its own Banking Hub!

When Lloyds, the last bank in Mitcham town centre, closed, Mitcham would’ve been left without a single bank. That would have affected every resident and business in Mitcham.

Thanks to the will of Siobhain, the local Labour Action Teams, and Mitcham residents, we were able to secure a banking hub for Mitcham - the very first in south west London.

The banking hub can provide:

  • Cash withdrawals and deposits five days a week

  • Help to manage your money with whoever you bank with, every weekday

  • Face-to-face support from major banks on different days

  • A secure, staffed space for those who prefer in-person banking

For now, the banking hub is located in Mitcham Library, 157 London Road, Mitcham, CR4 2YR. The hub is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm, witbh the following banks available on the following days:

  • Monday: Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland

  • Tuesday: Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland

  • Wednesday: HSBC

  • Thursday: Barclays

  • Friday: NatWest

There is currently an ongoing search for a permanent base, with an update expected in 2027. The result of the decision will be shared as soon as we find out.
